Earl Jarrett is the dynamic leader of the Jamaica National Building Society, the Caribbean’s largest building society; the third largest financial institution in Jamaica; and a multinational, operating from 37 locations in Jamaica with offices and money transfer locations in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States of America and the Cayman Islands. The JN Group provides a wide range of services including—savings, mortgages, investments, technology solutions, small business financing, general insurance, fleet management, roadside assistance and real estate referral.

A Chartered Accountant and graduate of The University of the West Indies, Mr. Jarrett is a Commissioner of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) and a member of the Executive Board of the Caribbean Association of Housing Finance Institutions (CASHFI). He is a Director of the Gleaner Company’s UK and North American Boards. A former Deputy Chairman of the Jamaica Tourist Board, former Council Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica and past President of the Rotary Club of New Kingston, he also served as a member of the National Task Force on Political Tribalism. Mr. Jarrett is a Member of the National Council of Jamaica, Order of St John and The University of the West Indies Mona Campus Council.

Mr Jarrett is also the North American Regional Director of the FIA; a Director of the FIA Foundation; Director of the Edna Manley College Arts Foundation; Chairman of the Jamaican Diaspora Foundation; Chairman of Mona GeoInformatics Institute; and a Director of the Caribbean Policy Research Institute (CaPRI).

A Rotarian committed to voluntary service, he is Chairman of the Jamaica Cancer Society, a Trustee of the Dudley Grant Memorial Trust and the YWCA Trust, and Patron of a Home for disabled children.

Mr Jarrett has received numerous awards for his contribution to nation building, including the Pelican Award from The University of the West Indies for outstanding work in business development among the Jamaican Diaspora in the USA; the Caribbean Luminary Award from the American Foundation of The University of the West Indies and the Hummingbird Award for International Achievement from the American Friends of Jamaica.

In August 2008, he was appointed to the Order of Distinction in the rank of Commander for service in the financial sector. In November 2010, he was conferred with the Doctor of Laws (LL.D) honoris causa by the University of Technology Jamaica. He was again conferred with the Doctor of Laws (LL.D) honoris causa by The University of the West Indies Mona Campus in November 2011.

In March 2012, Mr Jarrett was selected as the 2011 Jamaica Institute of Management/Gleaner Manager of the Year; and subsequently has been inducted as a Fellow of the Jamaica Institute of Management in recognition of this outstanding achievement. In June of 2012, Mr Jarrett was also recognised as a Man of Excellence for 2012 by the Kiwanis Club of New Kingston.

In March 2013, Mr Jarrett was appointed a member of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica.
