International energy services provider Marubeni Corporation has plead guilty to bribery charges and will be sentenced on May 15, the US Department of Justice has announced.
Marubeni entered the guilty plea on March 19 in US District Court in Connecticut for participation in a scheme to pay bribes to government officials in Indonesia to secure a power project.
“Marubeni pleaded guilty to engaging in a seven-year scheme to pay – and conceal – bribes to a high-ranking member of parliament and other foreign officials in Indonesia,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Mythili Raman.
