Express Catering signs Mayberry as financial advisor

Mayberry Investments Limited on Friday announced that it will now act as financial advisor to Jamaican hospitality outfit, Express Catering Ltd. The deal, which was signed earlier this month, signals that the food and beverage operator is considering raising funds, privately or publicly. Express Catering began operations in 2001 and has its operation overseen by Chairman and CEO, Ian Dear. The company currently manages the operation of 17 brands, across 23 locations within Sangster International airport, including the Montego Bay airport.

As of December 2011, the company became the exclusive provider of food and beverage products in the post-security lounge of the airport. Express Catering boasts a diverse group of proprietary brands and international franchises to include casual dining concepts, themed bars and quick service restaurants, such as Quiznos Subs and Salads, Aunt Annie’s Pretzels, Nathans Famous Hot Dogs, Cinnabon, Moe’s South Western Grill, Wendy’s, Dominos and Dairy Queen.

With 30,000 square feet of space allocated for food and beverage, the company employs over 270 full-time crew members, with additional persons hired during peak travel seasons.
Speaking on the new partnership, Mayberry CEO Gary Peart, in a press release from Mayberry, expressed excitement at the prospect of working with Express Catering.

“We believe that this company is poised for growth, not only because it has negotiated such a lucrative space within which to operate in such a premium location, but also because the hospitality industry has been trending positively and is expected to continue to do so as long as tourism remains one of the key drivers of our economy,” Peart noted, while lauding the leadership of the company for its innovative concept and key strategic decisions.
