KPMG is deeply rooted in Jamaica as one of the oldest professional services firms in the country. With a rich tradition that benefits from a blend of international and local ideas, the firm was established in Jamaica as Tapley & Co. (early 1900s). The firm has had several name changes; first, Tapley Bowman & Co (1923), then Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co (1958), which became KPMG Peat Marwick (1987) and since 2005, KPMG.

Since the beginning, having a sense of higher purpose has been a part of the firm’s culture. With former Managing Partner, Willie Thwaites, being the Founding President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica, the firm has continued to lead the profession in the right direction by training generations of young professionals. Through KPMG’s Audit, Tax and Advisory services, the firm inspires confidence and empowers change to our many clients in the public and private sectors.

Inspired by its role in helping to shape history, KPMG’s people take pride in the firm, the services they provide – and the positive impact their efforts make around the world.
